Was so grateful to be awoken at 3:15 am by a thunderstorm. It hasn’t rained in weeks and there isn’t any rain the forecast. A thunderstorm with rain is a blessing even if it woke me up!
Have family visiting from out of town and made way too much food this weekend. They will be eating leftovers all week with us.
Made a Mexican style meal in the crock pot by pulling a bag of garden tomatoes out of the freezer, adding a bag of frozen shredded garden zucchini, a container of frozen cooked beans made from our garden beans, a bag of leftover rice frozen after a meal, leftover corn, leftover sautéed mushrooms, leftover caramelized onions and two discounted cans of refried beans. We have too much stuff in the freezer and I’m anxious to clear out last year’s garden harvest ASAP with this year’s harvest on the way.
There is a little town beach on a pond that is free to residents with maybe a 50 foot beach, playground, picnic tables and lots of shade! We took the out of town family there and our toddlers had a blast. Just a short car ride, sand, warm water, breeze, small waves, some shells = just perfect when you’re a toddler!
While slowly decluttering, I unearthed another box of class notes from grad school. I saved the binders and recycled the notes. If I haven’t needed them over the last eight years, I think I can continue onwards without them.
